Find Your Place Sunday
This Sunday, and next Sunday, Aug 16, we are pausing our normal middle hour activities for an exciting event in the hub, called Find Your Place. Finding your place at Calvary is more than just being physically present with believers in a building. It is finding your community where you are known, and know others. We can sometimes see ourselves as an extra person in the church, not having any particular place or purpose for the building up of God’s kingdom. We see a marvelous structure being built, but we don’t know our place. But you are not an extra; you are an integral piece to our local community of believers, and we want to partner with you to find your place of belonging and purpose here at Calvary. As you enter Find Your Place today, we invite you to think about where God is leading you here in our church family...maybe that's finding new community or serving the church body. Whether you've been here 20 years, or this is your first Sunday, we want to help connect you to the place God is calling you.
When you leave the worship center on Sunday, there will be volunteers stationed in the hub to welcome you into the event. They will be handing out a ministry guide and a map of the church. Throughout the hub, and in the Youth Room, we will have tables set up with ministry leaders and volunteers, ready and waiting to help! In the Youth Room, on the far west end of the church (door 15), we will have coffee, snacks, and dessert. The event will go from 9:45 - 10:45 am and again following the 11:00 am service. We are looking forward to connecting with each of you!
Senior Pastor Search Update
The Search Team has begun interviewing and vetting a group of candidates. After this is complete, the team will bring their recommendations to the Elders. After the Elders review and approve the best candidate, they will bring the candidate to the congregation for approval. These steps will take several weeks. Please continue to pray for the next Senior Pastor and his family, the Search Team, and the Elders. We will provide another update as soon as possible, and no later than the Congregational Meeting on Sept 27.
Congregational Town Hall - August 30
As budget season approaches, we are doing something a little different this year as a church. We are going to host a Town Hall on Sunday, August 30, during the middle hour (9:45-10:45 am), in the Worship Center. We will share information about the upcoming budget for the 2026-2027 year here at Calvary, and how it looks different than it did last year. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and engage with Elders and staff about the budget prior to the vote in September. We are looking forward to gathering together to learn how we can best steward the financial gifts God has given us! Watch for an email in the next couple weeks with more details.
