Christmas Schedule Changes

Christmas is rapidly approaching! Please plan accordingly. Here's a few reminders about what that means:

  • December 28 is a Family Service. There are no classes for infants through adults.
  • Weekly ministries are on break (SWAT, C-Team, Awana, GriefShare, Women's & Men's Bible Studies) from December 22 - January 1. Ministries resume the first full week of January.
  • Church Office will be closed between Christmas Day and New Years Day. We have a drop box outside of the office for items/tithe envelopes and people will be regularly clearing it (and checking the office voicemail and email for urgent matters) but no one is officially in office until Monday, January 5. We are so thankful for our hardworking church staff. We want to give them time to rest and celebrate with their own families.

Christmas Offering

We are supporting two organizations this year with our Christmas Offering: 

  • First, we will support our local partner, Safe Families. This organization seeks to keep children united with their biological parents and out of the foster care system. Families in crisis can lean on Safe Families for childcare so they are able to focus on overcoming crisis and restoring stability in the home. Giving toward this organization will allow Safe Families to increase their case load in the Fox Valley and further keep children connected to their families.
  • We are also supporting the organization Open Doors, which provides aid, training, and support to the persecuted church all across the globe. Specifically, we will be providing funds to support the persecuted churches in Nigeria. News headlines have shown a violent intensification of persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Open Doors is able to support displaced peoples and help churches prepare for persecution.

Please designate donations with the words “Christmas Offering” by December 31.

Men's Ministry Bible Study & Winter Fellowship Breakfast

Throughout the year, we work to create opportunities for men to study God’s Word together & share the wisdom, experience, and struggles of pursuing God and investing in others. Our next Bible Study session offers men a place to meet weekly to do just that. Many believers long for a deeper, more whole-hearted Christian life. But what does that look like? James wrote his letter to show us. This deeply practical study shows us what genuine faith looks like. These 12 sessions will help reveal how to experience joy in hardships, patience in suffering, and whole-heartedness in how we speak, act, and pray. Books will be provided $5/each. Come check us out on Wednesdays at 6:30pm (starting January 7) in Fellowship Center East (201). Park in the West Parking Lot and enter Door 15.

ALSO: All men are invited to join us at the Winter Fellowship Breakfast, for challenging lessons from Pastor Keith, worship alongside Ross, as well as breakfast fellowship. Cost is only $10. Join us in Fellowship West from 8-10:30am on Saturday, January 10.

Women's Ministry Bible Studies

Women’s Ministry is a place where we can grow together, build relationships with each other, and serve alongside each other. The women at Calvary Bible Church are diverse—single, married, career-oriented, family focused, young, middle-aged, and senior-aged. We offer Bible studies, events, and opportunities to help women connect with one another, to grow more deeply in their love for Jesus, to be able to know and apply God’s Word, and to live out God’s mission to make disciples of Jesus who make more disciples of Jesus. There is a place for everyone, and we invite all the women of CBC to join us.

We have several opportunities for Women to grow in their faith and build community with some amazing (but imperfect) women in our church family, including these three options:

  • Women Together Tuesdays - 6:30-8pm in Fellowship Center East starting January 6. This winter/spring we are doing a study on the Book of Joshua.
  • Women Together Wednesday - 9:25-11am in the Fellowship Center West starting January 7. This winter/spring we are doing a study on the Book of James.
  • Mother's Together Wednesday - 9:25-11am in the Fellowship Center East starting January 7. This winter/spring we are doing a study on the Book of Joshua.
  • note: there is not childcare available for Tuesday Evenings study, but there is for the Wednesday morning studies. Space is limited, so please pre-register your kids.

Marriage Conference Registration Open

The Mindful Marriage Conference™ is designed to inspire, educate, and encourage couples in all seasons of life (pre-marriage, marriage, and blended family marriage) toward greater intimacy and stability. Designed for healthy and distressed couples alike. We will be taught by Ron & Nan Deal (Authors of “The Mindful Marriage”). Register today for this conference by clicking the button below. We are excited that we have a few area churches that are going to partner with us but this makes registering soon important because space is limited. This Sunday we will have a table in the Hub to help you register or to answer any questions.
