Summer Schedule
As we prepare for Fall Kickoff in September, we will be pausing classes for preschool, elementary, youth and ECC classes during the month of August. Infants and Toddlers will continue to have class during the 8:30 hour only. This short break allows our teams and ministry leaders to rest, regroup, and refocus, while also providing space for intentional community gatherings. Full Sunday morning classes will resume on September 7.
In August, we have these exciting opportunities planned for different family worship and growth:
- August 10 - Ministry Fair to find out more about opportunities for spiritual growth through being involved in classes, studies, and other ministries.
- August 17 - Congregational Meeting regarding Senior Pastor Transition over the next year at 9:45am in the Fellowship Center.
- August 24 - Missions Update - an opportunity to hear how God was at work on a few of our summer mission trips at 9:45am and Children's Ministry Volunteer Training at Noon.
- August 31 - Family Services for Labor Day Weekend.
Celebration of Ministry of Missionary Leah Reizner
Join us in celebrating the amazing things that the Lord has done through Leah's Missionary work in Germany. We will be in the Fellowship Center from 3-5pm on Sunday, July 17.
Night of Worship and Prayer
God is so good to us and we want to be purposeful about coming to him as a church family in this season of change, from summer to fall and also as we begin the search for a new Senior Pastor. We will be having a night of worship and prayer on Sunday, August 17 at 6pm in the Youth Room.
Summer Mission Trip Recap
On Sunday, August 24 we will have a special middle hour (9:45am) presentation in the Worship Center to highlight our summer mission trips. Come to hear what the Lord did through our 2 SWAT teams that visited Dalas, Texas and Cincinatti, Ohio as they served the homeless population. Also hear the stories from our team that visited our ministry partners at The Village of Hope in Zambia.
Fall Kickoff Coming Soon!
As Summer is wrapping up and Fall Kickoff continues to draw closer, we want to highlight our many ways to worship, grow, serve, and share. Here's some upcoming opportunities for you to grow at Calvary:
- Invite friends & neighbors' kids to join our AWANA program (see AWANA blurb below for info and to register)!
- Kids will move up to their new classes and Children's Ministry goes back to the normal service hours starting on September 7, but volunteers are still needed. Contact Krista if you can invest in the faith of our kids. We have our annual Volunteer Training on Sunday, August 24 at noon, so if you are thinking about joining us, this is a great time to check out what we are all about. And we are even serving lunch!
- Kids Choir is back this Fall! Register your kids (grades 1-6) at the KidsChoir Table at the Minsitry Fair this week. KidsChoir will be helping to lead worship on October 26 and practices are on Wednesdays prior to AWANA.
- C-Team (grades 7-8) and SWAT(grades 9-12) have their kickoffs on Wednesday, September 10. Go to cbcneenah.org/students to catch a glimpse of all the fun we have weekly!
- Have friends, family, or neighbors join us in worship this Fall as we start a new sermon series (either by coming in person or online).
Find out more about these and all the ways to Worship, Grow, Serve, and Share this Fall!
Precepts
Monday Night Precepts (from 6:30-8:45pm in Fellowship East) will be studying 1 Peter starting on September 29 going for 8 weeks. It is a study that consists of exploring our identity in Christ as a member of God's royal priesthood along with learning how to anchor your life during trials and challenges. The cost of the workbook is $21.99 due the first night of class. Please contact Jessie if you have questions (rickrjessjpete.14@gmail.com) or to have her order you a book.
Thursday Morning Precepts (from 9-11:15am in Fellowship East) will be doing a study on Covenant starting on September 18 and going into December. This study would be an ideal one to join us even if you have never done a Precept study before as it covers the basics of Christianity and the Covenant relationship we have with God. The cost of the book is $24.99 and is due the first night of class. Please contact Linda Gamerdinger (lgforhim@hotmail.com) if you have questions or to register for the class.
AWANA Registration
AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." This children's club is designed to teach children God's Word with a fun, clear, and consistent presentation of the gospel each Wednesday. Your child (Preschool3 - Sixth Grade) will have the opportunity to recite scripture, play games, and meet new friends. This is a great place for kids to grow in their faith - and an amazing opportunity to invite friends. AWANA meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm, September through the first week in May. The 2025/2026 AWANA Year starts on Wednesday, September 10. Register by clicking the button below.
Please note: volunteers are needed to run each of the AWANA clubs. If you feel called to invest your time and talents in this incredible ministry, we invite you to join us. Your commitment, no matter how big or small, can help shape the faith journey of a child and contribute to building a strong foundation for their future. Contact the church office if you are interested in being a part of the team.
